About EdWell

In villages and cities across Latin America, Africa, and South Asia, wells, pumps, and rivers are spaces where people gather to retrieve a critical resource (water), talk, and share information.

In the same way, EdWell is a space for leaders working in education. Our free newsletter shares articles and links that include:

  • TOOLS: practical resources to strengthen your work.

  • LESSONS LEARNED: wisdom from leaders on the frontlines.

  • HIDDEN HISTORY: moments that shaped education systems.

  • BULLETIN BOARD: jobs, events, media, and funding opportunities.

Readers include entrepreneurs running schools, edtech companies, or nonprofits, leaders shifting policies, and funders from across philanthropy, development agencies, and investors—in countries across the Global South.

EdWell is edited by Kat Pattillo. She consults to support ecosystem-building initiatives, and previously researched successful coalitions in Brazil and India, co-founded Metis in Kenya, and taught at African Leadership Academy in South Africa.

To see more frequent posts in between newsletters, Follow Kat on LinkedIn, where she shares links from the EdWell Bulletin Board in real-time.
